I Believe

“The LORD is near to the brokenhearted And saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3

I believe that everyone was created in God’s image and we all breathe His very breath.

“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” Genesis 1:27

“Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” Genesis 2:7

I believe God is intimately aquatinted with each one of us (we are His creation).

“O Lord, You have searched me and known me.
You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
You understand my thoughts from afar.
You scrutinize my path and my lying down,
And are intimately acquainted with all my ways.
Even before there is a word on my tongue,
Behold, O Lord, You know it all.” Psalm 139:1-4

I believe that a “fall” happened to human kind and because of that fall we all sin and fall short of the glory of God.

“…sin entered the world through one man {Adam}, and death through sin…” Romans 5:12

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

I believe that because of our deeply ingrained sin-nature we are destined to die and then face judgment.

“Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment.” Hebrews 9:27

I believe in the good news that God decided to make a way for us so we wouldn’t have to face a condemning judgment. He did this by sending His only Son, Jesus, to come to earth, die on a cross for our sins, and then rise from the grave to defeat death on our behalf.  When we bend a knee and believe and give our lives over to Jesus we will no longer face that condemning judgment but will have life, good, eternal life, that will one day have no sorrow or death or destruction. And further more, we will become children of God!

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16

“Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” John 1:10

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” Ephesians 2:8

I believe the Bible to be true (God-breathed) and good and alive and active in our lives through the power of the Holy Spirit.”
